Built by CWF Hamilton Co Ltd in Christchurch, New Zealand, the 10 seater
170AT Tour Boat is constructed of marine grade aluminium and is built to
withstand the rigours of high-speed jetboaing. It is 4.86m long, 1.96m wide
with a draft of 0.90m. This shallow draft and low deadrise allows the boat
to perform amazing manoeuvres at high speed and in relatively shallow water.
Powered by a 5.7 litre (257.43 KW) Chevrolet V8 marine engine, the Ryukyu Jet really thumps
along. Propulsion is by a Hamilton 212 Jet unit which enables the boat to slide and do the amazing
spins, whilst the driver retains ultimate control.
A jetboat also has the added advantage of minimizing damage to the environment.
Having no propeller protruding below the boat minimizes harm to marine eco
systems.
